Whoa. I guess it makes sense to cut enrollment so you have to provide fewer resources, but then again you still have all the tenured faculty to pay, the buildings to maintain, the electricity bills, etc. and you're down 10,000 students' tuition. I'm not sure this solution makes financial sense. Perhaps its more of a statement.

That is crazy. I cannot believe what a hole California is in. Its a shame such good schools are going to suffer.
