Nice find. I thought the CCSSO guy, Tanner, who came yesterday was really intriguing both as a teacher (I loved his "1 success = a C" idea) and as a thinker in improving NCLB and assessments.

The article mentions that the organizations will help the states implement the recommendations. I wonder exactly how that will play out. Often that's my problem with research--you just never know if/how it gets used...which makes me nervous.

P.S. Looks like our report is due in November...hah!

I was thinking the exact same thing and that was the one burning question I had for him on Thursday. After working on the implementation side of things, I find myself getting frustrated with some of these readings that spend pages and pages making recommendations for change but never really seeing anyone employing those recommendations.

It's definitely exciting and refreshing to see an organization taking such an action-oriented lead on the research/recommendation side as well as the implementation side. Will be very interesting to see how they plan on doing it.
